The Jumpers
The Jumpers is a club which is started on 15th October 1962.
Over the years, The Jumpers has become a club in which recreational basketball goes alongside with top-level playing teams.
Where the top two (youth as well as senior) teams are playing top-level, the other teams perform at recreational level.
The Jumpers have around 30 teams playing competition.
Apart from games and training exercises we also organize several other activities, among which the international youth tournament.
Generally tournament information:
The 11 international youth tournament will again organized this year following the success of earlier held tournements.
For several years, this tournement has attracted teams from many European countries, like Poland, Germany, Denmark, Czech - republic, Belgium, The Netherlands and many more. Some of the teams have become our regular guest.
The success of the tournament lies in competing with teams from all over Europe and experiencing a lot of fun doing so.
The tournament is divided in four categories, distinguished by age
Boys, age 15 and 16
Boys, age 17 and 18
Girls, age 15 and 16
Girls, age 17 and 18
The tournament will start on Saturday 30-03-2002, at 9:00 hours and will end on Sunday at 17:00 hours.
Throughout the tournament there will be around 30 people present on the floor, taking care of running things smoothly.
The tournament overview:
The games:
Official arbiters will direct the games and will have least an E-licence.
The duration of the games (minimum 4 per team) will be 2 x 20 minutes running>time.
As well on Saturday as Sunday the first game will start at 9:30.
All star game:
Saturday evening an will be played.
The best players of the first day, with the best coaches will have the opportunity to play a game on the center court.
All other participants of the tournement will have a change to cheer them up.
Evening festivities:
After the all star game, there will be a "giant party" with live disco untill one o'clock in the morning.
Facilities:
Sleeping:
Sleeping facilities will be taken care of, but you do need to bring your own air bed and sleeping bag.
In every room, an attendee of The Jumpers will be present.
Diner:
Saturday evening a diner and on sunday morning a breakfast will be available for all attenders.
Arrival
on Friday:
For those teams who forsee a long journey, their is a possibility to arrive on Friday 29-03-2002 at 15:00h.
There's also a possibility to issue a training exercise on Friday.
Please indicate this on your registration form.
For the attendees arriving on Friday, a sleeping place, diner on Friday and breakfast on Saturday will be arranged.
Cafeteria:
The club has his own cafeteria, which will be open from Friday 15.00 hours until the end of the tournament.
The charge for most drinks and snacks is 1 Euro.
Participation:
Registration will be open untill 20 january 2002.
Costs:
10 players and 2 leaders, cost at arrival on Saturday 200 Euro. 10 players and 2 leaders, cost at arrival on Friday 250 Euro.
These amounts included participation of the tournament, sleeping place and > meals described earlier.
